“We Shall Not Let Our Sanctuaries Fall to Ruin”: Aftaab-e-Shariat Maulana Dr. Kalbe Jawad Naqvi’s Stirring Call to Protect Faith and HeritageA historic address at Lucknow’s Chhota Imambara reignites hope — District Magistrate Vishak meets the Imam-e-Juma, assures immediate restoration of Husainabad Trust properties

The spiritual heart of Lucknow — the Chhota Imambara of Husainabad — echoed on Sunday with the voices of faith, resolve, and cultural pride.
What began as a solemn religious assembly soon transformed into a defining moment of awakening for the Shia community, as believers gathered in overwhelming numbers under the luminous guidance of Aftaab-e-Shariat, Maulana Dr. Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, the Imam-e-Juma of Lucknow, Secretary of Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Hind, and Patron of the Save Waqf India Mission.

The event commenced with a serene recitation from the Holy Qur’an and culminated in a powerful address that stirred both hearts and conscience.

“We Will Not Allow Our Sacred Spaces to Be Destroyed”

In his impassioned sermon, Maulana Dr. Kalbe Jawad Naqvi expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of the imambaras, karbalas, and other structures governed by the Husainabad Trust. His words resonated with both emotion and authority:

“If we never tolerate encroachment on our lands or shops,
how can we silently watch our sanctuaries crumble?
These are not mere buildings — they are living symbols of our heritage and our identity.
We shall not let them perish.”

Maulana Naqvi lamented that despite being one of the wealthiest and most historic religious trusts in India, the Husainabad Trust now stands in neglect and decay.
He criticized the absence of a managing committee and the lack of transparency in its administration, remarking sharply:

“Decisions are being taken arbitrarily under official authority,
while our cultural and religious treasures are turning into ruins.”

He urged the government to immediately constitute a new managing body and begin comprehensive restoration and preservation work to revive the grandeur of Husainabad.

⚖️ Save Waqf India Mission: “Protecting Heritage Is Our Sacred Duty”

Representatives of the Save Waqf India Mission attended the gathering in large numbers, reaffirming their unwavering support for Maulana Naqvi’s call.
They emphasized that his message transcends Lucknow, serving as a nationwide declaration for the protection of waqf properties, mosques, imambaras, and shrines across India.

“Those who covet religious endowments and sacred lands will now face collective resistance — legal, moral, and social,”
said a mission spokesperson.

The organization reiterated that, under Maulana Naqvi’s leadership, it would continue to act on every legal and civic front to end the plunder, corruption, and neglect of waqf assets across the country.

💬 “We Will Not Let Our Heritage Be Erased” — Meesam Rizvi

Echoing the sentiment, Meesam Rizvi, General Secretary of the Azadari Board, declared:

“Our heritage is sacred, and we will defend it.
These are centers of faith, history, and devotion —
and we shall protect them through lawful and determined means.”

Representatives of mourning groups (anjuman-e-matami) also expressed deep sorrow over the dilapidated state of the trust’s imambaras and karbalas, stressing that the time had come for unified action.

🤝 A Meeting of Commitment — District Magistrate Promises Revival

In a significant development, Lucknow District Magistrate Vishak met Maulana Dr. Kalbe Jawad Naqvi at his Johri Mohalla residence on Saturday night.
The discussion centered on corruption, mismanagement, and administrative lapses within the Husainabad Trust.

The District Magistrate assured Maulana Naqvi that immediate corrective measures would be taken, promising that the trust would soon witness “visible reform” and that Husainabad would once again “bloom into a garden of faith and splendor.”

This assurance has sparked a wave of optimism among the faithful, who now believe that the lost charm, spiritual glow, and elegance of Lucknow’s Husainabad may soon return.

😏 A Witty Absence That Didn’t Go Unnoticed

Amid the solemn proceedings, one curious observation drew gentle laughter.
Mirza Shafeeq Hussain Shafaq, famed for designing the annual posters of the Jogipura and Agra majlises, was conspicuously missing from the program.

🌙 A Prayer for Renewal and Light

The program concluded with heartfelt gratitude from the leaders of the mourning organizations, who thanked all scholars, anjumans, and attendees.
Their final prayer echoed through the illuminated halls of the Imambara:

“O Almighty, let light return to our imambaras,
let sanctity be restored to our karbalas and trust buildings,
and let our cultural and spiritual heritage remain eternal.
