Dewa Sharif (Barabanki), April 6, 2025 – In a historic and emotionally charged gathering, the sacred land of Dewa Sharif, known for its spiritual legacy and Ganga-Jamuni culture, witnessed a landmark conference calling for the reconstruction of the holy shrines in Jannat al-Baqi that were demolished by the Saudi regime in 1925.
Organized jointly by the Sufi Islamic Board and Al-Baqi Organization – Dewa Sharif, the "Inhadam-e-Jannat al-Baqi Conference" was held within the revered premises of Hazrat Haji Waris Ali Shah (r.a.)’s dargah, drawing Sufi saints, scholars, parliamentarians, journalists, and social activists from across the country under one emotional banner – justice for the Ahl al-Bayt and the restoration of sacred heritage.
The conference focused on raising a global voice for the rebuilding of the shrines of Lady Fatima Zahra (sa), Imam Hasan (a.s.), Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (a.s.), Imam Baqir (a.s.), and Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) in Jannat al-Baqi, Medina.
Powerful Voices for a Noble Cause
Sufi Raj Jain, founder of the Sarv Dharm Khwaja Mandir, declared:
“Until the shrine of Lady Fatima Zahra (sa) is rebuilt, our conscience will not let us sleep in peace.”
From Kashmir, MP Syed Ruhullah Mehdi Moosavi proclaimed:
“This is not a Shia or Sunni issue. It’s a human rights issue. We demand to rebuild these shrines with our own hands.”
Hanifa Jan, MP from Ladakh, appealed to the Indian government to raise the issue diplomatically with Saudi Arabia.
Faisal Khan, President of Khudai Khidmatgar, emphasized interfaith unity, stating:
“The shrines are symbols of shared human heritage. All religions must join hands to protect them.”
Geeta Jain, through Sufi Raj Jain, raised the slogan “Naara-e-Kainaat: Rebuild Jannat al-Baqi”, calling for it to be spread worldwide.
From the Heart of India to the Heart of Islam
Syed Rizwan Mustafa, Vice President of Save Waqf India Mission, stirred emotions by saying:
“We are raising our voice from the land of Lord Ram and Hazrat Waris Ali Shah, standing with the oppressed and calling for justice for the Ahl al-Bayt.”
The event was beautifully anchored by Dr. Qudsi Rizvi, Hujjatul Islam Maulana Iftikhar Hussain Inquilabi, and Dr. Abbas Raza Nayyar Jalalpuri. Other prominent voices included Maulana Kamran Haider (Hyderabad), Ali Abbas Naqvi (NDTV), and Dr. Shabbir Ali Warsi.
A Conference That Became a Movement
