Barabanki:
It was a moment of pride and deep emotion for the teaching community when the dedicated service efforts of the Teachers’ Self Care Team (TSCT) Uttar Pradesh were publicly appreciated by former Cabinet Minister and National Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh Gop. He warmly welcomed and honored the TSCT team at his residence located in Civil Lines, Barabanki.

The TSCT office bearers met with Mr. Gop and presented him with a bouquet. In response, the former minister adorned the members with garlands, offered ceremonial shawls, and applauded their work, saying:

“You all are like angels sent by God—beacons of hope for families left helpless in their darkest hours.”

Teachers, who dedicate their lives to spreading the light of knowledge, often leave behind grieving families when struck by untimely death. In such tragic moments, organizations like TSCT step in as their support system.

The noble mission of TSCT is not only to provide financial aid but also to reassure the grieving families of teachers that they are not alone. As of June 2024, the team has achieved the following across Uttar Pradesh:

  • Provided approximately ₹63 crore (630 million INR) in financial aid to 186 families of deceased teachers.
  • Extended ₹20.25 lakh in medical assistance to 61 teachers injured in accidents.

This tremendous support has been made possible through a modest monthly contribution of just ₹16 per member, collected from basic and secondary school teachers, Shiksha Mitras (education assistants), instructors, fourth-class staff, clerks, and block education officers.

Every teacher who lays down their life in service of duty leaves behind a family that finds a pillar of support in TSCT.

In his heartfelt remarks, Mr. Arvind Singh Gop stated:
“This team is not just offering help—it is instilling strength and courage within the teaching fraternity. You are doing the work that ideally the government should be doing. Your efforts are not just commendable, but truly inspirational.”

He also assured the team of all possible support in their journey ahead.

TSCT’s selfless service is now wiping the tears of thousands of families across the state. The team is a shining reflection of humanity, compassion, and a sense of duty—virtues that are often forgotten in today’s fast-paced world.

When those who once stood in classrooms building the future of generations are struck by tragedy, TSCT rises as a guardian for their families—this is the truest tribute to their legacy.
